Five-star recruit for the class of 2026 plans an unofficial visit with UNC women’s basketball

The UNC women’s basketball program has scheduled an exciting unofficial visit with one of the top players in the class of 2026.

Five-star point guard Autumn Fleary from McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland, will reportedly visit Chapel Hill this Wednesday.

The five-foot-seven rising junior has been recruited by some of the top schools in the nation while skyrocketing up the ESPN rankings this past season and is currently the No. 14 overall player in the class of 2026.

Fleary has become one of the most sought-after players in the country and is being recruited by schools like Duke, Maryland, Florida, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Rutgers.

According to On3 Sports, she has already visited Duke and Maryland and has created strong relationships with both programs.

Earlier this May, Fleary was selected as a finalist for the USA Women’s U17 National Team. Although she did not make the 12-man roster that eventually took home gold at the World Cup, her presence as a finalist proved her ability to play with the best in the world.

Fleary would be a great addition to the 2026 UNC Women’s basketball program, and the Tar Heels have plenty of time to persuade her before graduation.
