Today, I stand before you with a heavy heart, burdened by the weight of my decision. After much

contemplation, I have decided to resign as the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide football

team. This moment is bittersweet, and I want to take the time to reflect on my journey with this

remarkable program and express my gratitude to everyone who has been part of it.

When I first arrived in Tuscaloosa, I was welcomed with open arms by an incredible community,

rich in tradition and passionate about football. The spirit of the Crimson Tide is something unique,

a blend of excellence, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to greatness. I have always

believed in the power of this program and its ability to inspire not only athletes but fans and the

entire community.

Coaching this team has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I have witnessed firsthand the

dedication and hard work of our players, the relentless spirit of our coaching staff, and the

unwavering support from our fans. Every practice, every game, and every moment spent in the

locker room has been a testament to what it means to be part of the Alabama family.

However, despite the incredible moments we’ve shared, there comes a time in every journey when

you must assess your path. In recent weeks, I have faced personal challenges that have made it

increasingly difficult to give my all to this program. The demands of coaching at this level are

immense, and I have come to realize that I need to prioritize my well-being and the well-being of

my family.

To the players, I want to say thank you. Your passion, talent, and camaraderie have inspired me

daily. Each of you is capable of achieving greatness, both on and off the field. It has been a privilege

to guide you, and I believe that you will continue to build on the legacy of this great program.

To my coaching staff, your dedication and hard work have been invaluable. We have shared

countless victories and challenges, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together. I am

confident that you will continue to lead this team with the same passion and commitment that

defines the Crimson Tide.

To the fans, thank you for your unwavering support and for believing in us. Your energy in the

stands, your cheers, and your faith in our team have meant everything. The bond we share is

something I will carry with me always. You are the heartbeat of Alabama football, and I hope you

continue to support this program as it moves forward.

As I step away, I want to assure you that this decision does not diminish my love for this program

or the incredible people associated with it. While I may be resigning from my role, I will always be

an advocate for the Crimson Tide. I believe in its future and the potential of the young men who
