Pogačar, emotionally hurt of his resigned and seeing his true fans in tears, he made the announcement…
As I stand before you today, I feel a whirlwind of emotions coursing through me—pain, gratitude,
and an unshakeable commitment to my journey. The decision I have made is one that weighs
heavily on my heart, and I know it resonates deeply with many of you who have been with me
through thick and thin.
Cycling has been more than just a sport to me; it has been a canvas for my dreams, a stage for my
passions, and a journey shared with countless incredible people. I remember the first time I
mounted my bike, the wind rushing past me, the world blurring into a beautiful mess of colors.
That joy has been my companion throughout my career, and it is a joy I have always sought to share with you, my fans.
However, as life unfolds, we encounter moments that test our resilience. The past few months have
been challenging, both physically and emotionally. The pressure of expectations, the weight of
competition, and the longing to achieve greatness have taken their toll. I’ve poured my heart and
soul into every race, every training session, and yet, there were times when I felt overwhelmed.
In recent weeks, I’ve witnessed the tears of true fans—those who have stood by me through
victories and defeats. Your unwavering support has been a source of strength, and seeing your
emotions mirrored in my own has been a profound experience. It reminds me of the beautiful bond
we share, one that transcends the sport itself. You’ve cheered for me, cried for me, and celebrated
my triumphs as if they were your own.
Today, I must announce my resignation from professional cycling. This decision does not come
lightly; it is born from a deep understanding of myself and my needs. I believe it’s time for me to
step back and focus on healing—both physically and emotionally. I want to take the time to
rediscover the joy of cycling, the very reason I fell in love with this sport.
To my fans, I want you to know that this is not goodbye forever. I am not turning my back on you or
on the sport I cherish. Instead, I am choosing to take a step back, to breathe, and to reconnect with
the passion that first ignited my journey. I believe that by doing this, I can return stronger, more
passionate, and ready to inspire once again.
I am eternally grateful for the support and love you have shown me. You have been my motivation,
my strength, and my family. As I embark on this new chapter, I carry you in my heart. I hope that in
time, I can return to the sport that has given me so much and continue to make you proud.
Thank you for understanding my decision. Your support means the world to me, and I look forward
to the day when we can share the joy of cycling together again. Until then, let us cherish the
memories we’ve created and look forward to new beginnings.
