An Open Letter from Roger Penske to William Byron, Fans, and the Entire NASCAR Community…

I am writing this letter with deep appreciation and excitement for everything we have experienced together over the years, particularly as we look ahead to the future. As the owner of Team Penske and a long-time supporter of NASCAR, it has been an incredible journey watching this sport grow and evolve, and I would like to take a moment to share some thoughts with you, our loyal fans, and everyone who contributes to the heart of our sport.

First, to William Byron, I want to express my sincere congratulations on all your achievements to date. Your talent, determination, and professionalism have truly set you apart as one of the brightest stars in the NASCAR world. It’s been a privilege to witness your success firsthand, especially as you’ve consistently raised the bar on and off the track. Your victory in 2023 at Martinsville was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork that goes into being a championship-caliber driver. The way you navigated that race with poise and focus was a reminder of why you are a true contender in this sport. It’s clear that your potential is limitless, and I’m confident that you’ll continue to achieve great things in the years to come.

It is not only the victories and accomplishments that make you such an important figure to our team and the sport as a whole, but also the leadership you bring to the garage. Your work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement resonate with everyone who works with you, from your teammates to the crew, to all of us who watch you. You’ve proven time and time again that you’re not just racing for yourself – you’re racing for everyone who believes in you and the sport.

To the fans who support NASCAR and follow our teams, I want to thank you for your unwavering loyalty and enthusiasm. Without your passion, the sport would not be where it is today. You are the lifeblood of this sport. Your cheers, your energy, your commitment to following each race – it all makes the difference. You don’t just support a driver, you support a team, a family, and a legacy. You bring life to each race, to every turn, and to every lap. As the sport evolves, one thing will always remain constant: your love for NASCAR. For that, we are grateful.

NASCAR, as a community, has always been about the connection between fans, drivers, teams, and the track. We are a family. From the drivers who make every race unforgettable to the crew members who give everything they have to ensure each car is race-ready, to the sponsors who help fuel the sport, to the fans who come out week after week – NASCAR is a partnership built on passion and shared goals. It’s a place where competition is fierce, but the camaraderie and respect we share for one another is just as important. That bond between the people who make this sport great is what sets NASCAR apart from every other form of racing.

As we look ahead to the next chapter, I can’t help but feel a sense of optimism and excitement for what’s to come. The future of NASCAR is bright, and it is because of the work of every individual who gives their all to this sport. Our sport is constantly evolving, whether through new technology, changes to the rules, or innovations in racing strategy. And yet, the essence of NASCAR remains unchanged – it’s about competition, teamwork, and the thrill of the race.

For all of us at Team Penske, we’re committed to continuing to be at the forefront of that evolution, while never losing sight of the values that have made NASCAR the iconic sport it is today. We are excited for the upcoming seasons, for the continued growth of drivers like William, and for the promise of new talent rising through the ranks. We will continue to invest in the sport, in our teams, and in our fans. NASCAR’s future is incredibly bright, and we are proud to be a part of it.

To everyone in the NASCAR community – thank you. Thank you for your passion, your support, and for everything you bring to the sport we all love. Together, we will continue to push forward, racing to new heights, and making memories that will last for generations to come.

Let’s keep racing, let’s keep supporting, and most importantly, let’s keep believing in the greatness of NASCAR.
