Born John Michael Osbourne on December 3, 1948, in Birmingham, England, Ozzy rose to prominence as the frontman of Black Sabbath, pioneers of heavy metal. Their debut Black Sabbath (1970), followed by Paranoid and Master of Reality, laid the foundation for the genre. Ozzy’s distinct vocals and wild stage persona made him iconic. After being dismissed from Sabbath in 1979, he launched a successful solo career, starting with Blizzard of Ozz (1980), which introduced classics like “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley.” He collaborated with guitar virtuosos like Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde. Osbourne gained a new audience in the 2000s through The Osbournes, a reality TV series. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Black Sabbath in 2006 and received a solo nomination in 2024. Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning concert has raised a phenomenal £140 million ($190 million) for local charities! Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who performed as part of Supergroup B on the day and was musical director for the Villa Park extravaganza, revealed the astonishing tally on social media.  “More than 190 million dollars will be donated to houses and hospitals for children,” Morello wrote.   “Thank you, Ozzy Osbourne, for trusting me to be the musical director of the Back To The Beginning show. It was over a year of hard work, but heavy metal was the music that made me love music, and it was a labour of love. “We raised a ton of money for a great cause, and so many great musicians and bands fans all over the world paid tribute to the all time greats.” The money will be donated to Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Cure Parkinson’s, the three chosen charities for Back to the Beginning.  You can see more coverage of Back to the Beginning at 👇👇👇⬇️
