East Carolina Baseball Coach Heated After Regional LossLB with three stars Jordan Miles chooses to attend East Carolina.

East Carolina has added another piece to its 2025 recruiting class, picking up a pledge from three-star Huntsville (Ala.) Grissom High School three-star linebacker Jordan Miles. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder is rated 84 overall by 247Sports, making him the 168th-best linebacker nationally, and the 80th-best player in Alabama for the 2025 class.

Miles chose ECU over Arkansas State, which he also officially visited, along with Memphis and UAB. Other offers included Air Force, Army, Central Michigan, and Toledo. As a junior for a Grissom team that posted a 2-8 record, Miles recorded 60 tackles, including six tackles for loss, two sacks, and two forced fumbles.

The commitment of Miles marks the 20th of ECU’s recruiting class, and the third projected to play linebacker. He was recruited by defensive coordinator Blake Harrell.

“Me and Coach Harrell’s relationship is great,” Miles said. “He’s been on me ever since the end of my sophomore year and has stayed consistent since then and that’s not easy to do. With him being my position coach and the DC, him telling me the plan he has for me really sold me.”

Miles joins fellow Georgia native Macklin Sanders, out of Ola High School, and Charlotte (N.C.) Palisades High School three-star Kendric Davis, as linebacker commitments for ECU’s 2025 class. All three are considered versatile defenders with the ability to potentially play multiple spots in Harrell’s position room.

“Honestly in the multiple 3-4 defense that Coach Harrell runs I feel like it would be a great opportunity to be extremely productive,” Miles said of why he chose ECU. “Also how versatile I could be in the defense was a huge selling point for me.

“I’m more of a wild card player, with me running a 4.6 40 and a 4.3 shuttle, I could play boundary or field linebacker, or I could play in the box as well. We’ll just have to see when I get to campus.”
