Football scheduling is a hot topic when it comes to the future of all programs in the FBS ranks, especially those in East Carolina’s position. The Pirates, who are known for their rigorous schedules in the 1980s, 1990s and into the 2000s, have backed off from those in recent years due to conference realignment, and other factors.
