Nebraska Football: Husker helmets throughout the years

Where David Sanders Jr. stands among the Vols’ greatest recruits of all time

Five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. of Providence Day School in Charlotte, N.C., who’s ranked by 247Sports as the No. 3 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2025 class, announced Saturday afternoon that he has committed to Tennessee. He chose the Vols over Ohio StateNebraska and Georgia during a ceremony at his school that was streamed live on 247Sports’ YouTube channel.

The 6-foot-6, 290-pound Sanders became Tennessee’s 22nd commitment for the 2025 class and gave the Vols their fourth commitment from a projected offensive lineman. His current ratings make him one of the highest-rated players to commit to Tennessee in the history of the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, which dates back to 2000.

“Tennessee, they just showed me love from the beginning,” Sanders said. “I felt that love since the very beginning, and I just knew that was home. On my official visit was when I really felt it, and I just felt like that’s where I needed to be.
