Pop icon Dua Lipa has taken fans behind the scenes of the iconic Sunny Hill Festival in Kosovo, revealing the emotional journey that brought the event to life. Speaking to Telegrafi, the Grammy-winning singer shared how launching the festival in her homeland was both a “scary” and empowering experience.

“Back when I lived in Kosovo, there weren’t many artists coming here,” Lipa said. “Starting Sunny Hill was just an idea at first, and it felt scary because we didn’t know how it would be received.”

Despite the initial uncertainty, the festival has blossomed into a major international music event, bringing global stars and local talent to Pristina and shining a spotlight on Kosovo’s culture. Founded by Dua Lipa and her father Dukagjin Lipa in 2018, Sunny Hill has grown rapidly and become a symbol of pride for Kosovars worldwide.

Dua Lipa emphasized the importance of giving back to the community that shaped her. “The love and support I’ve received from Kosovo means everything. Through Sunny Hill, I want to offer the same hope and inspiration I wished for when I was younger.”

Fans were treated to exclusive behind-the-scenes clips, showcasing the planning, passion, and purpose behind the festival’s success.

As the 2025 edition of Sunny Hill approaches, Dua Lipa’s dedication to nurturing Kosovo’s music scene continues to inspire a new generation of artists.
