These are the final thoughts for the Michigan football program as they look to sign one or more commitments on National Signing Day.

Since the Michigan Wolverines had virtually nothing going on during last year’s National Signing Day, supporters of the university were concerned about Jim Harbaugh and the Minnesota Vikings.

Naturally, with two signing days, things are a little different these days. Early National Signing Day was a great success for Michigan football, and on Wednesday the Wolverines hope to add to their class of 2023 recruits.

Nyckoles Harbor, a five-star athlete, has been eyed by Michigan football, but things aren’t looking good after he received another crystal ball projection to South Carolina.

Before we head into National Signing Day, here are some thoughts on Harbor and other targets.

On signing day, how many commitments will Michigan football receive?
At this moment, it appears that the Wolverines will only add four-star defensive end Cameron Brandt, who is committed to Stanford, to their class of 2023 recruits.

Brandt is a 260-pound defensive end who stands 6-foot-4. Whether he ends up as an EDGE or a three-technique is a topic of some debate. In any case, adding the three-star recruit, who is rated in the top 500 by both the 247 sports composite rankings (No. 453) and the On3 consensus rankings (407th), would be wise.

Brandt has committed to Stanford and is no longer in California. The Cardinal are attempting to hold onto him, but according to all the expert predictions, Michigan football will add another signee to the 2023 class tonight or tomorrow.

signs that lead to Nyckoles Harbor in the incorrect direction Howard Jamel

Things don’t appear good for Michigan football, nor for the other two recruits the team has a chance to sign: Nyckoles Harbor (5-star athlete) and Jamel Howard (3-star nose tackle).

Oregon appears to be the other team that is actually in the running, and South Carolina appears ready to defeat Harbor. Although some have stated that Michigan football hasn’t given up yet, I would be shocked if Harbor signed with Michigan on signing day.

Additionally, it appears that Wisconsin will make amends by gaining the commitment of Jamel Howard, who renounced his commitment following Paul Chryst’s dismissal. He appears to be getting back into the fold, and Luke Fickell is scheduled to make a decision on Tuesday night.

So Michigan will get a talented defensive lineman if everything goes according to plan. In an ideal world, Harbor would also be added, but that doesn’t seem possible.
