Danilo Gallinari of the Nuggets has his first knee surgery.
Forward will need another procedure to fix his ACL.
The Denver Nuggets have announced that forward Danilo Gallinari had surgery to repair his left knee’s meniscus and would thereafter undergo another treatment to repair his ACL.
At the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado, on Monday, the meniscus surgery was completed. Before an appointment is made to have the ACL repaired, he will undergo knee rehabilitation.
On April 4 against Dallas, Gallinari was injured when he stumbled and planted his left leg while attempting a layup. His knee gave out, causing him to fall and cry out in agony.
Gallinari has been absent for the Nuggets’ playoff matchup with the Golden State Warriors. Throughout the season, he averaged career-highs in points (16.2) and rebounds (5.2). At 135 3-pointers, he also led the club in scoring.
