West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen was benched for England again in the win over Wales on Thursday.
Bowen was left on the bench as England faced Andorra in the last international break, as Thomas Tuchel opted against utilising the forward. The 28-year-old was afforded a chance off the bench against Craig Bellamy’s side, despite Bowen’s struggles with his expected goals at West Ham this season.
This allowed Bowen to match Scott Parker’s caps against Wales with the Hammers star sitting on 17 ahead of the clash at Wembley.
Bowen went on to prove the Three Lions boss right in the capital as the forward made a 20-minute cameo against Wales.Tuchel’s squad is so competitive right now that players need to seize their opportunities when they arise.
Morgan Rogers is an example of someone who has done precisely that with a goal and excellent performance against the Dragons.
