Pace University Launches the Adele Janow and Judge Sandra Forster Memorial Scholarship to Support Future Legal Leaders

Pace University has announced the establishment of a transformative new scholarship in memory of two remarkable legal pioneers — Adele Janow and Judge Sandra Forster. The Adele Janow and Judge Sandra Forster Memorial Scholarship aims to support high-achieving law students who demonstrate a commitment to public service, justice, and equity.

The scholarship, funded by generous donations from alumni, colleagues, and supporters of the two women, will provide immediate financial assistance to students at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace. The award not only honors the legacies of Janow and Forster but also ensures their lifelong dedication to legal excellence and advocacy continues to inspire future generations.

Adele Janow, a renowned international trade expert and Columbia Law School professor, was widely respected for her intellect and integrity. Judge Sandra Forster, a groundbreaking jurist and Pace alumna, dedicated her career to advocating for underserved communities and advancing diversity within the legal system.

“We are incredibly proud to honor Adele and Judge Forster through this scholarship,” said Pace University President Marvin Krislov. “Their impact on the legal field and on generations of students cannot be overstated. This fund reflects our commitment to fostering the next generation of ethical, compassionate, and talented legal minds.”

Applications for the scholarship will be open to law students beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. Recipients will be selected based on academic merit, leadership potential, and a demonstrated dedication to public service.

The memorial scholarship serves as a lasting tribute to two visionary women whose lives shaped the legal landscape and helped open doors for others to follow.
