Son of Beatle Shows Clear Frustration After Being Fired From Legendary Band: ‘What Is Going On?’

Yep. The son of a BEATLE was fired recently from his touring gig, and he is not happy. Zak Starkey, son of the legendary Ringo Starr, has had nothing short of a stellar career so far.

The artist has spent the years touring with an assortment of different bands, including Oasis and The Who. The Who has been his biggest career investment, and he performed with them rom 1996 until 2025, when he was cut from the band by Roger Daltrey.

The whole incident has caused quite a stir, as Starkey believes there wasn’t much reason or the firing. It all surrounds a gig at the Royal Albert Hall, where he allegedly played rather poorly. Starkey has gone on the record saying that he has looked over recordings and can’t find these so called errors.

All of this has been chronicled in an interview with NME, where Starkey has been very candid about the frustratio “I still talk to Roger every week on the phone. I still text with Pete all the time. I spoke to Roger last week and he said, ‘Go take your drums out of the warehouse in case we need you.’

Starkey then asked, “What the f–k is going on, man?” He continued, saying, “That’s where it’s at now. The week before that he said, ‘Well, we haven’t fired you, we’ve retired you because you’re so busy with your own group.'”

Based on his comments, it’s easy to see where the frustration comes in.

Fans rallied behind Starkey after seeing the clip, agreeing in his confusion over the unjust firing, and the strange back and forth that has followed it.

“Seems like a decent guy. Open and transparent.
